62nd Annual Art Show and Sales
"Fakes and forgeries"
May 25 & 26, 2024
Our Peachland Art Group had its 62nd annual Show and Sale on May 25-26, and it was another success. The theme this year was "Fakes and Forgeries," with many pieces as studies of the great masters, such as Monet, Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Renoir and more. Guests were given an "art passport" to tour the display and learn about the various eras of art, from Cubism to Abstract Realism, to the Renaissance. There was also a wide variety of original paintings, using all mediums.
Our show featured entertainment by Paula McLaughlin and Terry Moore, a lovely lunch plate, door prizes, and a kids' art activity table. We had a very good attendance of nearly 400 visitors over the two days, and our Town Crier, Bruce Klippenstein, helped to attract attention to the show.
Our art group meets weekly on Thursdays from September to June, and welcomes new members at every level of ability. We enjoy socializing, sharing ideas and materials, and continuing our artistic development with four workshops through the year. Anyone interested in joining can contact president Paula McLaughlin.
