LECTURES & CONCERTS
In past years the Peachland Art Gallery has been host to a number of intimate classical string and jazz concerts involving both professional and promising student performers. We will be carrying on the tradition each year partnering with the Kelowna Community Music School and and a string trio of Okanagan Symphony music teachers and their students. To balance musical tastes we are also in partnership with the music department at Mount Boucherie Secondary School inviting student jazz trios to perform. All musical performances are followed by dinners at local restaurants or cafes in Peachland.
We've also held stimulating Powerpoint lectures where local authors have talked about their books of local, national, and even international interest. Keep your eyes open for this corner of the website for the next Art Gallery lecture or concert.

Dinner at Gasthaus on the Lake - Thursday, November 22, 2018
On Thursday November 22, the Mary Smith Hall of the Peachland Art Gallery was roused by the rhythmical beat of the Jazz Quartet comprised of senior music students from Mount Boucherie Secondary School.
The programme selection was notable for its variety and also the musical challenges that were met head on.
In addition to some rousing numbers there were one or two particularly subtle moments when the percussion of Keon Narinsingh's bass and Cam Powell's drums set a decisively delicate mood for the combined melodies of Luke Nickel's trombone and Zander Miller's alto sax.
The appreciative audience were treated to a delightful hour's entertainment prior to fine dining at the Gasthaus on the Lake Restaurant in Peachland.

The Peachland Community Arts Council
presented a return of
Elinor Florence
for a talk and book signing of her new novel Wildwood
on Friday, September 14 at the Peachland Art Gallery, Mary Smith Hall
Wildwood is an historical novel the setting of which is located in an abandoned, off-the-grid farmhouse in the remote backwoods of northern Alberta. The farmhouse is inherited by a young woman under the strict conditions set by her late great aunt. Artifacts of the time were on display thanks to Richard Smith a local historian and collector of historic items.
