PEACHLAND COMMUNITY ARTS COUNCIL PRESENTS SUSAN HAGLUND’S X FACTOR SERIES

For beginners or those with some abstract experience.

Dates:        Wednesdays, Feb.  8th, 15th & 22nd 2023
Location:   Peachland Little Schoolhouse
Time:         1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Lead:         Susan Haglund

Purpose
“Ex-Factor Abstracts” is a series of workshops to explore ways to add, move, and remove acrylic paint on a surface; to expand your confidence in painting where there are no lines or pictures to follow; to experiment with a range of media and tools; to examine abstract art with fresh eyes; and to express your creative self in a supportive environment. It is designed to be immersive, interactive, and fun.

Who should attend
Anyone who may have thought they “can’t paint an abstract”; has limited or no experience with abstract painting and wants to try a new type of painting; OR those with abstract experience and want to explore with other like-minded artists.

What you will do
  • Explore basic and advanced ways to add, move, and remove paint.
  • Expand your concepts of abstract art, including composition, design, and colour selection.
  • Examine and discuss a range of abstract art.
  • Experiment with principles of composition and design on canvas.
  • Express yourself on both plain and textured canvas.
