Talent Showcase Oct 29

The Talent Showcase on October 29 was another great success, with a wide variety of talents coming to perform. The brand new Peachland Chickadees Youth Choir opened the show with a set of three songs: I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Tomorrow from Annie the Musical, and It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got That Swing - the crowd loved them and they looked adorable in their Halloween costumes! The audience was treated to vocals, ukulele, piano, poetry and spoken word and acoustic guitar, with high-calibre talent in every performance. MC Paula McLaughlin dedicated the evening to Betty Sim, a lifelong Peachland resident, who went to school in the historic schoolhouse, and was a choir teacher for her entire career. She continued to wish for another choir, well into her elder years, and passed away recently. The continuing sponsors of the Talent Showcase are Central Okanagan Foundation, locals Lloyd Sotas and Brenton Froehlich. The full house showed their appreciation and support for live, local entertainment for our community and beyond! Thanks go to Vince Boyko, and the arts council directors who worked together to put this showcase on. The next Talent Showcase is scheduled for November 26.
