Celebrating 13 Years of Artistic Excellence

The OASIS Exhibition is a long-standing collaboration between the Peachland Art Gallery and the Central Okanagan Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), now celebrating its 13th year. Over the years, the exhibition has become an anticipated annual event that showcases the diversity, talent, and creative excellence of artists from across the region.

Held under the official rules and standards of the Federation of Canadian Artists, OASIS is a juried exhibition open to members of the South Okanagan Similkameen, Central Okanagan, North Okanagan, and Thompson Nicola Shuswap Chapters of the FCA. The exhibition provides artists with an opportunity to present their work in both a professional gallery setting and an online format accessible to a wider audience.

The jurying process follows the established FCA model and is designed to ensure fairness and artistic excellence. Each submitted artwork is independently reviewed by a panel of three FCA Signature Members, artists who have achieved senior recognition within the Federation for their body of work and professional accomplishments. Jurors evaluate each piece according to FCA criteria, considering elements such as originality, composition, technique, creativity, and overall impact. The scores from the three jurors are then averaged to determine which works are accepted.

As the exhibition continues to grow in popularity, the number of accepted works often exceeds the available gallery space. In these cases, a maximum of two paintings per artist may be selected for display in the Peachland Art Gallery in order to ensure a balanced and diverse exhibition representing as many artists as possible. However, all accepted works remain featured in the online exhibition gallery and are available for purchase throughout the exhibition period. OASIS continues to celebrate the strength of artistic practice within the interior regions of British Columbia while fostering connection, visibility, and professional opportunities for participating artists.
