Lest We Forget // Exploring the Poppy with the Pincushion Quilt Guild

The Alternator Gallery at the Rotary Centre for the Arts in Kelowna is currently featuring Textile Art created Peachland fiber artists.

Lest We Forget is a collection of 20” × 20” textile works by members of Peachland’s Pincushion Quilt Guild.

Each piece in the collection reflects the maker’s interpretation of the poppy as a symbol of remembrance and is fashioned from the same eight hand-dyed fabrics. A variety of techniques were used including piecing, applique, embroidery, thread painting, fabric paints, and embellishment.

Established in 2005 by a small group of passionate stitchers, the Pincushion Quilt Guild has grown to 40 active members from across the Central Okanagan. Today, this vibrant group meets weekly at the Peachland Community Centre to share their love of quilting.

The exhibit is on display until Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 4:00 PM
