Rev up for one of the Okanagan’s premier vintage motorcycle events! Join us for the Peachland Vintage & Collectable Motorcycle Show on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the beautiful Cenotaph Park Waterfront in Peachland.
From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, motorcycle enthusiasts, collectors, and families are invited to enjoy an incredible display of vintage and collectable motorcycles of every make and model. Whether you’re showcasing your pride and joy or simply admiring these classic machines, there’s something for everyone.

Discover the power of colour and take your acrylic painting skills to the next level!
Join award-winning artist Linda Lovisa for a fun and informative hands-on workshop designed to help artists gain confidence in colour mixing and understand how colours work together. Whether you’re just beginning your artistic journey or have years of painting experience, this workshop will give you practical skills that you can apply to every painting you create.
Linda will guide you through the fundamentals of colour theory using a limited palette of primary colours. During a live demonstration, you’ll learn how to mix a wide range of beautiful, vibrant colours while creating your own personalized colour chart—a valuable reference that you’ll use again and again in your future artwork.
Throughout the Day You’ll Explore
● Understanding the colour wheel and colour relationships
● Mixing an extensive range of colours from primary colours
● Creating tints, tones and shades
● Choosing harmonious colour combinations
● Developing confidence in your colour choices
● Building your own portable colour reference guide
Supplies to Bring
● Wet palette (highly recommended) Available at Mouldings and More - a must, not only does it save you money it keeps your paints from drying out!

● Your favourite brushes (Linda will be demonstrating with a ¼-inch flat brush)

Paint
Linda uses Tri-Art Heavy Body Acrylic Paints, available locally at Mouldings and More in West Kelowna. While you are welcome to bring the paints you already own, the following colours are those Linda uses on her palette:
● Ultramarine Blue
● Cerulean Blue
● Cobalt Blue
● Manganese Blue
● Cadmium Yellow – Medium, Light and Deep
● Arylide Yellow Deep (optional)
● Cadmium Red – Medium, Light and Deep
● Titanium White
● Warm White

Materials
Participants will use three accordion-style sketchbooks to create their colour samples and personal colour chart. The set of three sketchbooks is available from Linda for $21.00, payable directly to Linda at the workshop.
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels and is perfect for anyone wanting to strengthen their understanding of colour while reducing wasted paint and improving colour consistency.

I love the outdoors. My paintings are a visual journal of my adventures. They reflect the places I have been and beauty I have seen. I am drawn by the light, colour and movement in the subjects and scenes I choose. I have been creating for as long as I can remember. My hope is that my art will inspire others to want to create as well.

Artist Biography
Linda paints Alla Prima. (Direct approach) This type of painting keeps the colours fresh and vibrant while mixing direct on the canvas. Her techniques include Impressionism, symbolism, and abstraction. Although she works primarily in acrylic, she continues to explore a wide range of media including pastel, watercolour, and mixed media.
Linda’s paintings have appeared in exhibits across Canada and the United States and can be found in private and public collections nationally and internationally. Linda has been presented by The Federation of Canadian Artists, a Gold Award, Third Award and an Award of Excellence.
Linda teaches regularly an online demonstration class which focuses on different techniques as well as individual coaching. Topics vary each week. She has also developed a children’s art program that commences in September till June called “Art on the Yacht,” in West Kelowna.

If your child has an artistic spark and enjoys expressing themselves through art, Kids Art Lab with Mary is the perfect place to nurture their creativity while building confidence and new skills.
We are excited to offer this inspiring 5-week program designed especially for children ages 6–11. Through fun, hands-on activities and guided instruction, young artists will explore a variety of techniques, materials, and creative projects in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
During this program, children will explore:
● Watercolour painting techniques
● The foundations of art, including brushes, paints, paper, and essential tools
● Drawing fundamentals using shapes, contour drawing, and line-and-wash techniques
● Perspective, colour, and composition—learning how colours and shapes can appear to come forward or recede
● Mixed media art using watercolours, ink, acrylics, soft pastels, and watercolour pencils
● Gel printing with paint, stencils, and natural materials
● Understanding primary colours and colour mixing
● Creative “scribble art”—discovering images hidden within playful lines and transforming them into unique works of art
● An introduction to pastel techniques
● Negative painting and other exciting artistic approaches
Each class is designed to encourage imagination, experimentation, and creative problem-solving while helping children develop confidence, artistic skills, and a lifelong appreciation for art.
Join us for five weeks of creativity, exploration, learning, and fun. We can’t wait to create with your young artist!

Mary Staudinger – Artist & Instructor
Mary Staudinger grew up on a family farm near Humboldt, Saskatchewan, where her mother nurtured a love of nature, gardening, painting, music, creativity, and the value of hard work. Surrounded by the beauty of the prairie landscape and encouraged to create from a young age, Mary developed a lifelong appreciation for colour and artistic expression.
Her passions include interior design, colour, music, dance, family, friends, and the natural world—all of which continue to inspire her artwork. Working primarily in watercolour and acrylic, Mary’s style blends impressionism and realism with vibrant, expressive colour.
Mary’s artistic journey has been lifelong. In 2018, she joined Roberta Farrelly’s acrylic painting classes, where she found both inspiration and a supportive community of artists who shared her enthusiasm for painting. Since then, she has continued to expand her skills by participating in numerous workshops, building a rich toolbox of techniques and creative ideas.
Watercolour holds a special place in Mary’s heart. She describes it as magical—the perfect balance between thoughtful planning and allowing the paint to lead the creative process. In April 2022, she began teaching from her backyard studio, welcoming adults of all experience levels. Her students quickly responded to her encouraging approach, curiosity, and passion for the medium.
Mary believes every artist has a unique creative voice. She encourages intuitive painting, helping each student discover and develop their own style while building confidence through exploration and play. She especially admires the way children naturally embrace colour and creativity, believing they remind us that art is meant to be joyful.
For Mary, art is a lifelong journey of learning, discovery, and self-expression. Her goal as an instructor is to create a welcoming, supportive environment where every student feels inspired, has fun, and leaves proud of what they have created.

This workshop will focus on compositional contrast and the interplay between spontaneous and controlled techniques. Participants will explore the tension between chaos and order, balancing expressive, non-representational abstraction with precision-based realism. Realism remains the focal point of the work, while the expressive background adds life, movement, and emotional depth in the painting.
Ideal for artists who love portraiture and wish to move beyond traditional backgrounds. Students will leave with a piece of art that realism alone cannot capture.
No painting or drawing skills are required. You may bring a photocopy of your own reference image or sketch to transfer.
Reference materials will also be provided.
A material and supply list to bring will be emailed to you prior to class.
About the Instructor
Sandra Van Den Ham is an award-winning oil painter based in Shuswap. She earned an Award of Excellence from the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Petterson Award at the Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts. Her work has been published in Federation Magazine and exhibited in numerous juried shows, including the Kamloops Courthouse Gallery and the Lake Country Artwalk. Sandra has led workshops and demonstrations for various regional Art organizations, including the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts, and Blind Bay Painters. She is currently studying under a renowned Italian artist to expand her practice into acrylics and abstract work.
Reference materials will also be provided.

Join Paula McLaughlin (B.Mus., M.Ed.) for the exciting new Peachland Youth Choir. This welcoming program is designed for children and youth up to 14 years of age who love music and want to develop their singing skills in a fun, encouraging environment.
Through weekly rehearsals at Our SPACE, participants will learn healthy vocal techniques, build confidence singing both individually and as part of a choir, and enjoy making music with new friends. Throughout the term, the choir will prepare a selection of songs to perform at special community events, giving young singers the opportunity to share their talents with family, friends, and the community.

Paula McLaughlin Biography
Paula has spent her lifetime in music, starting from the age of 6, continuing through high school choirs, to a Western Washington University double degree in piano and secondary choral music. She continued to her Masters of Education at UBC in Vancouver, as a professor in the Faculty of Music Education, as well as an advisor to the elementary teachers’ education practicums.
She worked for the Delta School District as a music specialist, while maintaining her private studio with hundreds of students over 35 years. She also achieved the Viva Voce Teachers’ and ARCT certificates from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto.
Paula has shared her Master’s thesis in pedagogical articles published in Clavier and Keyboard Companion Magazines, and presented at several Registered Music Teachers’ conferences and workshops.
She maintains her private studio in Peachland, and still enjoys the special relationships and challenges of working with students at every level, in piano, guitar, ukulele, and voice.
Paula is currently the President of the Peachland Community Arts Council, and co-president of Our SPACE. She chairs the Events committee and hosts monthly Talent Showcases for performers in all genres from the community and beyond.
As a special honour, Paula was awarded Peachland’s Citizen of the Year for 2024.

Wally will demonstrate different techniques, including lighting, shadows and washes. You may start a new painting or bring a painting you’re currently working on.

Linda loves to paint with palette knives. This is a rare opportunity to display a collection in this style. You will enjoy the application of overlapping colours and 3-dimensional impressionistic interpretation of these landscapes.

Materials Needed: Sketchbook, pencil, 9x12 canvas, palette for paint, cloth or paper towel, water container.
